Deep Seedbed Conditioner (DSC)™ and Deep Bedformer Conditioner (DBC)™ machines are designed to avoid the consequences of cultivation:
- destruction and exposure of roots and the pores created by roots and soil organisms;
- breaking apart cemented soil particles;
- killing soil organisms and plant roots; and the rapid breakdown of soil organic matter; as well as avoiding the consequences of No-tillage, which are:
- soil consolidation between rows, restricted root growth and the occasional cultivation to loosen the seedbed;
- cool soil temperatures and slow early-season growth, and shallow and limited build-up of organic
DSC and DBC machines create and perpetuate 300 mm deep, loose, stable, well-aerated seedbeds. No extra operations are required. They increase: grain yield; soil organic carbon; irrigation efficiency; and drought and waterlogging resilience.
